The youngest of the Jewish festivals is Yom Yerushalayim, or Jerusalem Day. It has only been celebrated since 1967, when the Six Day War resulted in the reunification of East and West Jerusalem, when Jews could again pray at Kotel, or the Western Wall (also known as the Wailing Wall). However, the greater significance of the festival is that it emphasises the significance of the Promised Land and Jerusalem within Judaism and for all Jews.
