Nityananda Trayodasi Day is celebrated in honor of Lord Nityananda’s appearance day (birthday). Lord Nityananda appeared in 1474 in a village called Ekachakra, located in West Bengal, India.
Lord Nityananda is Lord Balarama Himself who appeared on earth to assist Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in spreading the holy names of Lord Krishna, the treasures of loving God. Lord Nityananda’s mercy is necessary because He is the original spiritual master, without Him one cannot understand Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and cannot attain His mercy.
