Kathina, Sangha Day

A monastic community festival (Theravada) in the period between two full moons. It is a celebration at the end of the monasteries’ traditional three-month retreat, when lay practitioners express their gratitude to the monks and temples. Lay Buddhists give donations to temples, such as new robes for the monks.

The celebration is on one day between the 28th of October and 27th November.
