Sri Balarama Purnima is celebrated to mark the appearance day of Lord Krishna’s elder brother Lord Balarama. Lord Balarama is the first expansion of Lord Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Lord Balarama gives spiritual strength to all of us spiritual pathfinders. He also represents the original spiritual teacher, for without His grace, we cannot develop in our spiritual life.
Lord Balarama represents the attitude of service towards Lord Krishna. Lord Balarama Himself also serves Lord Krishna in many different ways, such as as His eternal companion. His only mission is to please Lord Krishna.
