Sri Radhastami day is celebrated to honor the appearance of Sri Radha. The highest truth contains both feminine and masculine aspects. Radha is the eternal consort of Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the feminine energy of God. They are simultaneously one and separate, just like the sun and its rays – inseparable.
Radha is the embodiment of perfect love for Krishna, therefore she is known as the personification of Bhakti, or loving devotion towards God. Love for God is our natural original state of being. By her pure example, Radha invites everyone to awaken their own dormant love for Krishna, and helps us on the path of devotional service.
