Srila Prabhupada Vyasa puja

Srila Prabhupada’s Vyasapuja Day is celebrated to commemorate AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada’s appearance day. He is a spiritual teacher and the founder acarya of ISKCON.

The most significant step was taken by AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada when he brought the teachings of bhakti, or devotional service, to the Western world in 1965, at the age of 70. Entering New York harbor from a merchant ship that had left India 5 weeks earlier, he had all his possessions with him: 40 Indian rupees (about $5) and a delicate Srimad Bhagavatam book. With great success, Prabhupada founded the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, or ISKCON.
